This term, Foundation will be learning about the acronym S.T.E.M. They are drawing pictures about how it relates to them. We are learning about laboratory safety and what it means to be a scientist. In addition, we will be using our five senses to explore and observe the world around us while experimenting.
The grade 1 & 2’s will be learning about laboratory safety. They will use their five senses to observe the world around them. They will learn about the scientific method and apply their knowledge to science experiments.
Grades 3 & 4’s will be learning about laboratory safety and tools that are used in the science classroom. They will identify safe and unsafe rules in a laboratory. In this term we will be using scientific inquiry to identify the problem, hypothesis and procedures of the various experiments they conduct.
In this term 5 & 6’s will be learning about laboratory safety and tools that are used in the science classroom. They will learn to measure temperature, the volume of graduated cylinder, and measure using a ruler. In addition, they will learn about the scientific method and what is the control, independent variable and dependent variables of the experiments they conduct.
