Learners are most successful when they are mindful of themselves as learners and thinkers within a learning community.
Students can learn many things by will and effort, particularly if they see the learning as relevant.
The Personalised Learning sessions are based on Interpersonal Development and Personal Learning Strands of the AusVELS Curriculum.
The focus of this group is to initiate, maintain and manage social relationships with other students in a range of learning contexts. Working cooperatively, building relationships and developing skills to work together are built around the activities.
Activities are generally in the afternoon and they include cooking, gardening, looking after the chickens, art and craft, music and PE activities. Students can choose to participate in this program. The program is held in different rooms around the school. The activities always have several Educational Support Officers and a teacher working with the students.
