Pascoe Vale Primary School will be running extra-curricular activities during lunchtime throughout the year.
Extra curricula activities build good character traits like confidence, cooperation, respect, responsibility, inclusion and tolerance.
Students feel like they are part of a group or something special occurring within the school community.
Students have the opportunity to develop friendships with students from other year levels. Students can take on leadership skills within the chosen activity.
Library Club runs on Mondays and Tuesdays during lunchtime. Students are able to play games, read, draw and borrow, the session runs for 40 minutes.
Dance Club went off with a bang! Over 60 students participated in the dance session which will be an ongoing activity each week on Tuesday during term 2 with Mrs Klinkatsis. Prep-2 will be learning a dance routine to Que Sera by Justice Crew Grade 3-6 will be dancing to Shake it off by Taylor Swift Benefits of dance Students not only improve their social and physical skills, but also improve their academic abilities as well through our integrated curriculum.
Chess increases the problem solving skills of the students and it increases a sense of confidence and self-worth of a student. Chess teaches a child that he/she is responsible for his own actions, and it gives him/her the confidence. Chess club also helps the student to make more friends as it provides an easy and safe platform for discussion and gathering.
Computer club is held during lunchtimes in the PELC building for prep to grade 6 students. Students can come along and interact with other students and play games. Some of the websites students have been accessing: Cool maths, Mathletics, ABC, Penguin club, Online chess, Kids pic & Poptropica.
I enjoyed going to computer club because we can play games on the computer and other games.
